The first step towards a successful mediation/dispute resolution process is to be available as a patient listener for both the parties but at the same time it is also required to ensure that the dialogue does not deviate from the necessary facts and the points of contention which are required to be resolved. Second step is not to be emotionally driven while mediating a matter which is important for neutral and unbiased resolution process. Finally weighing every dispute from both the sides is the first important aspect towards reaching a break even point of settlement. In my career as a lawyer I have always founded my counseling/conciliation/meditation part of my practice on the above three steps which has made the process easy, unbiased, just and welcoming for both the parties. It has helped me settle money disputes, negotiable instrument disputes, property disputes, matrimonial disputes and compound offenses as per the provisions of law. I believe that the above approach makes me a suitable neutral.
